This brief guide will teach you how to upload a custom Windows ISO file to the Vultr cloud platform.
- A Windows ISO file (such as Windows 11 integrate VirtIO)
- Download and install the S3 browser from this website.
Create a New Object Storage
Log in to your Vultr account and click the “Products” tab in the left sidebar. Click the “Storage – Block / Object” tab, press the Object Storage option, and click the Add Object Storage button.
After that, select the location nearest you, enter a label for storage, and click the Add button.
Create a Bucket for Storage
Click the Object storage and press the Buckets tab and press the Create Bucket button and name your bucket.
Upload ISO file to Storage
Open the S3 browser as administrator, enter your display name, select the Amazon S3 Storage as Account Type, enter the hostname in the REST Endpoint input field, and append the 443 port with it. Enter the Access and Secret keys to the relevant input fields. Get your Hostname, Access and Secret keys from Storage Information on the Vultr. Press the Add new Account button at the bottom right corner of the window.
After that, click the “Upload” button on the S3 Browser and select the ISO file from your PC.
Upload ISO file to Vultr
Now click the Permissions tab on the S3 browser, check the Read option for All Users, and press the Apply Changes button.
Now click the Buckets tab on the Vultr dashboard and press the F5 to refresh. The ISO file will be available. Click on the three dots before the ISO file and press the Copy URL.
Now, click on the “Products” tab in the left sidebar, press the ISOs/Snapshots/Scripts tab, press the plus icon, and click the Add ISO.
Paste the URL in the “Upload ISO from a remote machine” textbox and press the Upload button.
